The Bible Testifies of the Book of Mormon

The Book of Mormon is a record of a man named Lehi and his descendants. Lehi was a descendant of Joseph of Egypt. Let's look at Joseph's blessing at the hand of his father Israel:

"Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: ...The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren."
(Genesis 49:22)

His children, Ephraim and Manasseh were also blessed that they would become many nations:

"And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations."
(Genesis 48:20)

The scattering and the eventual regathering of Israel is a prominent theme in the Bible.

"Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock."
(Jeremiah 31:10)

Jesus testified that he was also sent to scattered Israel.

"And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd."
(John 10:16)

Ezekiel prophesied that in the latter days the scriptures of the descendants of Joseph would be added to the scriptures of the descendants of Judah, and all that Israel would be united once again.

"Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes."
(Ezekiel 37:19-20)

Isaiah also spoke of this day.

"Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."
(Isaiah 29:13-14)

This marvelous work would be a book that is given to a unlearned man.

"And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned."
(Isaiah 29:11-12)

"And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness."
(Isaiah 29:18)
