Joseph Smith - Timeline

At 14, Joseph Smith, Jr., had a vision of God and Jesus. He was commanded not to join any church, that they were all corrupt.
At 17, Joseph Smith, Jr., was visited by an angel who told him of an ancient record buried in a hill near his father's farm.
At 21, Joseph was allowed to remove the book by the same angel. He translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God.
At 24, he was visited, along with Oliver Cowdery, by John the Baptist, who conferred upon them the Aaronic priesthood.
On another occasion, Peter, James and John appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, conferring upon them the Melchizedek Priesthood or Apostolic authority.
At 25, Joseph Smith was commanded to restore the church of Jesus Christ upon the earth, led by twelve apostles and a prophet.
At 27 he received a revelation from God, commanding him to build a Temple. After the Kirtland Temple was complete, many prophets appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, giving them the keys to their several dispensations. Many spiritual manifestations were seen at the dedication by many people. Many people saw angels, both inside and on the roof.
At 29, he was commanded by revelation to establish the economic order of Zion. The saints left Kirtland because of severe persecution, and gathered in Missouri.
When he was 35, the saints were forced to move once again. Joseph bought a swamp in Illinois, which the saints turned into a beautiful city named Nauvoo. They built another Temple. Joseph purchased some Egyptian scrolls from a traveling dealer and partially translated the scrolls, giving the saints the Book of Abraham.
At 39, Joseph Smith, Jr., decided to run for President of the United States.
At 39, Joseph Smith, Jr., was also martyred. Arrested on false charges, betrayed by the governor of the state and the state militia, Joseph Smith, Jr., and his brother Hyrum Smith were accosted by a large mob of armed men at Carthage Jail and killed.
