A New Theory of the Three Wise Men

The wise men probably came from southern Arabia. Frankincense and Myrrh come principally from trees in southern Arabia, in the Dhofar region. Arabia was rich in gold because of the spice trade. Arabia is south and east of Jerusalem, and is often referred to as the east in the Old Testament. There is a region in southern Arabia where the population worshiped the one true God from ancient times. Lehi was a Jewish prophet who passed through southern Arabia circa 600 BC, and he made a prophesy that the Messiah would come in 600 years. His travels can be found in the Book of Mormon. He may also have been the Muslim prophet known as Hud, which translated is "the Jew." George Potter presents these theories in his book, Ten More Amazing Discoveries, along with corroborating evidence, from his expeditions to southern Arabia. (Yemen, Saudi Arabia)
